Administrative Professional Event - shall plan and coordinate all activities during Administrative Professionals' Week.
Administrative Professional of the Year Committee - shall be comprised of the last five Chapter APs. This committee shall select the current AP, the criteria for selection is who the committee agrees has provided outstanding service to the chapter.
Arrangments Committee - Responsible for selecting a site and menu, provide decorations, invitations, etc., as necessary for all Chapter functions. This committee is very active as it handles the monthly meetings and other events as requested.
Bylaws & Standing Rules Committee - Maintain conformity in Chapter Bylaws & Standing Rules with the International and Division Bylaws & Standing Rules. Edit and/or correlate all proposed amendments to these Bylaws & Standing Rules and submit together with the committee's recommendations and reasons for the recommendations to the Board of Directors. Propose amendments to these Bylaws & Standing Rules. Submit Chapter Bylaws & Standing Rules and/or adopted amendments thereto, the Division Bylaws & Standing Rules Committee for review. Assist the Board of Directors in preparing and submitting amendments to the Division and International Bylaws & Standing Rules.
Certification & Education Committee -shall stimulate interest and encourage participation in the CAP programs, keep chapter members apprised of the latest administrative techniques, and plan educational study sessions and programs for the membership. This committee will also be responsible for maintaining and distribution of educational material available through the Chapter's Virtual Library.
Executive Event Committee - shall plan and coordinate all activities for an event that honors Boss' Day. This event is held in place of the October monthly meeting. This committee also secures and coordinates the essays for "Executive of the Year" award.
Financial Reivew Committee - Formerly known as the Audit Committee. Responsible for reviewing the Chapter's financial records at the close of each fiscal year.
Hospitality & Door Prize Committee - Responsible for greeting members and guests at planned events. Solicites donations/promotional gifts/door prizes from local sponsors and awards door prizes at planned events.
Membership Recognition Committee - This is a special committee that recognizes Chapter members on special occasions. Cards are sent via snail mail to members in celebration of events such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, births of children or grandchilden, graduation, etc.
Membership/Recruitment Committee - Responsible to seek ways to maintain and increase membership in the Chapter. Shall install new members at monthly meetings and coordinate the annual Recruitment Meeting. Hold a new member orientation semi-annually or as needed.
Newsletter Committee - Shall publish a monthly newsletter of Galveston County Chapter news which includes Chapter, Division and International news items. Publication may also contain Chapter officer reports, approved original articles by members, educational content, upcoming events, authorized committee releases, and other items as approved by the Board of Directors.
Nominations Committee - Responsible for coordinating a call for nominations and review the qualifications of all candidates for office. Submit to the members a slate of one or more candidates for each office at the March meeting. Coordinate the installation ceremony of the newly elected officers during the June monthly meeting.

Programs Committee - Responsible for planning and securing speakers with educational programs for the monthly meetings and other special functions as needed. At least 8 of the 12 monthly programs must qualify for recertification points to meet criteria for Chapter of Excellence. This committee is very active as it handles the monthly meetings and other events as requested.
Publicity Committee - Responsible for coordinating with local newspapers to advertise upcoming events and publish newsworthy activities of the Chapter.
Retirement Center Trust Committee - Responsible for promoting interest in IAAP retirement centers and devise and promote projects to raise funds for the IAAP Retirement Centers Trust Fund.
Scholarship Committee - Shall award scholarship funds as budgeted by the Chapter. The committee shall work with local educational institutions and set criteria to select deserving students interested in an administrative professional career. Such awards may be given to recipients at the discretion of the Committee and with the approval of the Board of Directors.
Seminar Committee - Shall plan and coordinate all activities in conjunction with the presentation of an educational seminar.
Ways & Means Committee - Shall seek ways to generate funds needed to operate activities of the Chapter.
Website & Social Media Committee - Shall design and maintain all aspects of the Chapter Website within the IAAP web community. Coordinate a Chapter presense on other social mediums such as FaceBook, LinkedIn, and Tweeter. Will coordinate with other committee chairs to update programs, events, and other pertinent data as soon as information is available. Provide monthly traffic reports to membership via email.
